Clan Ventrue

Lords and Masters of the Kindred, the Ventrue are the Kindred's most fervent social climbers, frequently seen at Elysium vying with one another to rise to the top of the pyramid. Regal, commanding and aristocratic, yet also prone to falling into madness, this clan of harsh rulers of the Danse Macabre gives rise to legends of Damned Lords and rulers in isolated, lofty castles.
In times past they were the scions of old money and feudal nobility. Tonight, in modern times they often belong to the current elite – the cream of high society, wealthy businessmen and cruel masters of organized crime syndicates. Through whatever means, Clan Ventrue with their nigh-inviolable etiquette rise to the top of undead society.
Nickname: Lords
Disciplines: Animalism, Dominate and Resilience.
Weakness: Power corrupts, and among the Ventrue, even the thirst for power can corrode an ambitious Kindred's moral bearings. Over time, a Ventrue's mind becomes fragile. Therefore, Ventrue characters are more prone to gaining derangements when they suffer a loss of Humanity.

Bloodlines
|
Most of the time, Kindred who join a bloodline have a Sire of the same bloodline, which means a less restrictive and natural transformation for the childe. Those who do not wish to join their Sire's line, wish to attempt to change their bloodline or whose sire belongs to no bloodline (i.e. is a direct member of the parent clan of a bloodline), must seek an instructor, called an Avus, who can induct them into the bloodline's beliefs and Vitae. In such a case, both must belong to the same parent clan. The following is a list of Ventrue bloodlines available. Bear in mind that these may need ST approval.

State of the Sphere

| Many Kindred see the Ventrue as almost synonymous with the Invictus. Indeed they often are – in the past and still tonight. The Lords offer a simple boast, they win. They always do – ever since Valerian set foot to the lands of the Danube. Here, in their city, the Ventrue lived up to their boastful claim – no other Clan can count as many rulers among their reigns as the Lords. Princedom alone isn’t always enough, and not all Ventrue pursued this goal or joined force with the Invictus. The Lancea Sanctum is the covenant having seen second most Ventrue, and many of them have ascended the ranks of the oligarchy.
Vienna is their city – Clan Ventrue has no doubt about that. Here people still follow old traditions and costumes, creating visitors with an always so polite smile and the Viennese charm is famous all over Europe if not beyond. The city with all its mystery and history resembles this clan like no other and the clan resembles its very essence, or so Lords claim. There is more to this place than that, though. Austria’s neutrality, its EU membership, banking secrecy, business tradition, affluence, multilingualism, plurality of cultures make Vienna the natural hub for multinationals eyeing the territories of the former Soviet bloc. But it does not only attract legal entrepreneurs, here at the Danube Metropolitan Ukrainian weapons smuggler clash with Albanian drug dealers and face off against already established mafia families of Italy and Austria.
